Who We Are
Morning Star Care Center was established in 1985 as a Skilled Nursing Home Facility, an enterprise of the Eastern Shoshone Tribe. Morning Star Care Center is an Eden Alternative Home. We have embarked on a journey to change the culture of our nursing home to address helplessness, loneliness, and boredom.
The Eden Alternative defines care as helping one another to grow. Defining care in this way focuses on the quality of our relationships as the key to our success. This definition also implies that care is for everyone, not just those requiring treatment. From our perspective, meaningful care is that which nurtures the human spirit, as well as the human body, while celebrating and encouraging each person’s unique capacity for growth, no matter what their abilities may be.

Our mission is to provide compassionate, quality care in a comfortable, safe, home-like environment. We are committed to promoting the highest level of physical, emotional, and social well-being for each resident with dignity and respect. Our goal is to create a home-like atmosphere that fosters independence, choice, and a sense of belonging.

We aim to become one of the leading nursing homes not only in our area in Fort Washakie, Wyoming, but across other states as well. The lives of those in our care are at top of our list, which is why we also want to create a community that is supportive, engaging, and fulfilling.
